7th is the research, consultancy and design & make practice of Joe Trickett.

7th is a body of ongoing design research and projects focused around principle of The Seventh Generation, also known as the Children's Fire; to make no decision that will harm future generations. 

Some of the primary narratives explored in Joe's work are regeneration, connection, community, materiality, systems, abundance and eco (not ego) mindset.

After a decade working within the commercial interior design industry, on a broad range of global projects. The disconnect between the commercial industries and the environmental and ecological crisis became apparent. This led Joe to a strive to understand what could be done better within the design sector and beyond. 

Joe now shares this research and knowledge knowledge with the next generation of designers, through delivering Sustainable / Circular design modules at several academic institutions across the country, including a permanent post at Manchester School of Art, MMU. 

Having developed a deep knowledge sustainable design principles through a range of primary and secondary research and practice, Joe is now developing relationships within the industry through collaboration and consultancy, as well as continuing his academic research hoping to create a better future on our home, spaceship Earth.
